Historical Overview of Jalalabad State Medical University Named After B. Osmonov (JaSU)

The Jalalabad State University Medical Faculty (JaSU), named after B. Osmonov, was officially established on April 2, 1993, as a state educational institution. Its foundation was built upon the legacy of various educational institutions that had been functioning in the region for decades. These institutions collectively laid the groundwork for JaSU’s multidisciplinary approach to higher education.

1926: The Pedagogical Faculty was founded, marking the beginning of structured higher education in Jalal-Abad.1947: The establishment of the Zoo Veterinary Technical School added an important dimension to agricultural and veterinary sciences in the region.1963: Branches of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute were introduced in Kara-Kul, bringing advanced engineering and technical education closer to students.1965: The Electro-Mechanical Technical Faculty was established in Mayluu-Suu, specializing in electromechanical studies and practical training.1981: The Engineering Technical Faculty was founded in Kochkor-Ata, expanding opportunities for technical education in engineering disciplines.1990: Another branch of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute was established in Tash-Komur, further diversifying educational access in Kyrgyzstan.
