ADMISSION PROCESS FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS AT JALALABAD STATE UNIVERSITY
4.1. The admission of foreign citizens for contract-based education at the faculties of Jalalabad State University is organized by the Admissions Committee of JASU.
4.2. Foreign citizens are admitted to the first year of the contract-based education at JASU if they have:
- Passed the preliminary document verification, achieved a required score, possess visas that meet all the requirements of the Law on Migration, and successfully passed the entrance exams.
- Signed a contract between JASU and the applicant.
4.3. Foreign applicants have the right to be admitted to programs with Kyrgyz, Russian, or English language instruction, according to their own preference.
4.4. Foreign citizens must possess the following documents upon admission:
- An educational document equivalent to the state document on secondary general or secondary vocational education of the Kyrgyz Republic (Certificate on Intermediate and Secondary Education).
- A certificate of compliance with the level of education content, issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (MOES KR).
- A passport with the corresponding entry visa.
4.5. Entrance exams for foreign citizens are conducted in the form of examinations (oral or written), interviews, paper-based or computer-based testing, remotely in an online format, in accordance with the curriculum of the Kyrgyz Republic’s secondary general education and within the framework of the general admission campaign of JASU.
4.6. In case of quarantine, emergencies, or a state of emergency, entrance exams may be conducted in an online format (interview via video conference, computer-based testing), with the preservation of the examination results, subject to the approval of the authorized education authority.
4.7. The Admissions Committee of JASU conducts the verification of all documents specified in paragraph 4.4 of this Regulation, visa compliance, and transfers personal files with documents to the inspector of the Department for Foreign Student Affairs according to the inventory (Appendix 1). This includes a copy of the passport with the relevant visa and a copy of the educational certificate translated into Kyrgyz or Russian and notarized.
4.8. After successfully passing the entrance exams, the personal file of the foreign student is transferred to the inspector of the Department for Foreign Student Affairs by the technical secretary of the Admissions Committee until November 30, 2022. The original documents (certificates of secondary education, certificates of language courses completion, diplomas, etc.) are kept in the HR department of JASU until the completion of the studies.
4.9. The acceptance of documents from foreign citizens for the 1st year is carried out within the deadlines set by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (until October 15).
4.10. The cost of education at the faculties and educational structures of JASU is determined by JASU and is specified in the individual contract.
4.11. Students who fail to meet the requirements of the academic curriculum, violate the terms of the contract, internal regulations, and dormitory accommodation rules established by JASU, experience academic underperformance, financial arrears, or other violations may face disciplinary measures, including possible expulsion from JASU.
Inventory of Documents in a Foreign Student’s Personal File
- Application addressed to the Rector.
- Passport size photograph.
- Original educational document (certificate, diploma, or certificate), along with a notarized copy translated into Kyrgyz or Russian.
- Certificate from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic confirming the level of education content.
- Copy of the passport with the corresponding entry visa, along with a notarized translation into Kyrgyz or Russian.
- Entrance examination materials (test sheet).
- Order list.
